Its a very quick process to update ESXi version to the latest. This procedure is completed via esxcli going through a SSH session to the Server. The update takes around 5-10mins depending on the hardware resources of the server and the failure is minimal. But not to say that the things wont go wrong so please make a BACKUP before you proceed.

It's now possible to integrate FreeIPA/IDM (Red Hat) into vCenter Appliance (vCSA)/ vCenter Server for User authentications. We need to configure IPA server and vCenter Server for LDAP to authenticate users from IDM server. Follow this guide and you will up and running in no time with a fully working vCenter appliance/server with user authenticating from IPA Server. No need for Windows AD anymore :) .

It is possible to use DCUI (Direct Console User Interface) via SSH session to ESXi. At the command prompt just type in "dcui" and then you would be able to see the same screen as given below. You need to resize the SSH window BIG enough otherwise the DCUI window tends to crash if you resize after logging in. You can restore the console session by pressing Ctrl+C.
