The process of upgrading Red Hat Satellite 5.6 to 5.7 is fairly simple if you follow the steps properly and have got enough space on the host while upgrading. There are many new features in Satellite 5.7 which includes integration of IDM for User Authentications and a major upgrade to the text editor which make it a hell of a lot easier to edit files PLUS the NEW User interface gives it a new life.

NOTE: This guide is applicable only to Red Hat Enterprise Linux v6.x and above.
